Freeway removal continues to gain momentum around the country. Joining the growing list of planned or proposed freeway removal projects, Hartford, CT considers removing the Aetna Viaduct.
Cities are focusing on quality of life to attract people and economic prosperity. While in Louisville, the Bridges Coalition members Mayor Abramson and GLI support building a 23 lane Spaghetti Junction on our waterfront. Whatever possible gain in short-term job creation will surely be followed by long-term pain for the entire region - more traffic, more pollution and a less inviting city.

I'm starting to think that there's an age-based disconnect on Ohio River Bridges Project. More people over 40 tend to think of it as a bitter pill that has to be swallowed. People under 40 seem to think its stupid. Obviously there's some fuzz on either side of that. But has 8664 ever engaged in any polling with crosstabs on age? Because the young folks seem kind of miffed that this mega project is going forward in their name, when they tend to "get it" that destroying urban core for lane miles is a loser.
You are correct. Support for 8664 is highest in the 18-49 age group. Interestingly, women appear to "get it" more then men. I guess boys like to build things -- even if they are big ugly things.
